The first stage of Congress Centre 2 has been completed
Following the renovation of Congress Centre 1, then that of the main hall and the Brasserie, a new stage has been completed in the Vision 20XX project, with the construction of the first part of Congress Centre 2 (CDC 2). The second half will be completed in 2013.
This new facility located between the existing entrance to Hall 3 and Hall 4 has 5 rooms that can be entirely adapted to suit requirements. All the walls are movable and soundproofed, with F60-type fireproofing. They are coated with a magnetic paint, which is ideal for temporary displays (magnetic securing).
All the rooms are equipped with connections for projection, sound systems and the IT network and each room has a projector and fixed sound system.
The floor is parquet tinted with a grey colour and the pillars have been clad with stainless steel sheets, allowing fresh air to enter towards the floor and ensuring removal of any smoke.
The foyer of the future Hall 3 and Hall 4 will feature a toilet block including disabled persons’ toilets and various technical rooms.
The direct entrance to hall 2 has also been renovated and will benefit from the same type of finish as the Hall 1 foyers. An organizers’ room and store room round off the facilities.
The rooms’ heating is provided by ventilation and electrically adjustable diffusers allow air to be distributed flexibly and accurately as per the requirements.
Each of the light fixtures, which are of the "Carambar" type and serve as a false ceiling, is variable and adjustable separately.
2011-2012 will also see the construction of a new "Kitchens" area to meet modern preparation and operating requirements, in line with the currently applicable standards. It will take up an area of around 2,500 sq. metres. Finally, a 250 sq.-metre store room and a 480 square-metre depot accessible from Hall 4 (moving walls) will be created.
