But, in the circumstances, it is above all an observation about our calendar of events, which promises to be well-filled and varied in this exceptional vintage year.
As you will notice when browsing through this Newsletter, the month of January has already ended with two successful events: the SIHH and the exhibition for Holidays, Travel and Leisure.
The first half-year continues at a brisk pace with – honour to whom honour is due – the 81st International Motor Show, for which the auspices are excellent, and its bevy of “premieres”, as well as two other events devoted to mobility: IAMF in March and STS at the end of May.
In chronological order, the exhibition of inventions, the fair for books and press with its satellites and artbygenève, Vitafoods and EBACE will be loyal to their annual meeting dates and look promising.
There will also be Index, the world’s leading nonwovens exhibition, which has been held at Palexpo every three years since 1984 and which is a unique platform for this industry with unlimited potential.
A major premiere, the prestigious Cadre Noir of Saumur will be coming to Palexpo for the first time, substantiating our ability to host major events in general and equestrian events in particular.
Organized every two years by Swiss Tourism, STM, the largest and most important trade show in Switzerland for incoming tourism, will round off the picture of this first half-year, during which some important medical and scientific congresses-exhibitions will also be held.
We will have another opportunity to talk about the second half-year, which will also be well-filled, but we can already announce a record year. The year that will in fact mark Palexpo’s 30th anniversary.
When one knows that the new Congress Centre 2, a new phase in our Vision 20XX project, will be opening in March, one is justified in affirming loud and clear: “2011: A happy and good year!".
We look forward to sharing the highlights with you.
