“gponline”: an efficient new, user-friendly and ecological portal for organizers and exhibitors
A new multiple-events portal, which has officially been in operation since January 1, 2008, enables exhibitors to deal online with all their organizational procedures. It forms part of a logical process of improving our services, in conjunction with a sustainable-development policy.
Exhibitors will only need their user name and password to get on-line access to the exhibitor’s file, all the order or registration forms and useful information. The exhibitors’ interventions are immediately confirmed by electronic mail and they can alter or supplement them within a given time period. This enables them at all times to manage directly and keep an overview of their accounts.
Various order-assistance tools have also been created to help exhibitors place their orders optimally.
To make their task easier, a support system has been put in place to assist and guide users.
In addition to this flexibility and visibility, there is another significant aspect: an ecological gain due to the savings made on printing, dispatch and paper – which is estimated at about 800,000 sheets for all the events.
The few difficulties encountered up to now have concerned mainly connection difficulties due to companies’ IT security systems, but they are far from insoluble. One staff member is, moreover, constantly available at Geneva Palexpo to answer questions and provide any assistance by telephone or e-mail.
In the month of January alone gponline recorded 1,700 orders - for technical equipment, goods, services, or exhibition surface area - from exhibitors or organizers.
